Just one more click on the grimreaperometer

In 24 hours I'll be 31.

Oh my God!

Why does it seem soo much older than 30.. and infinitely older than 29?

Is time really speeding up.. cuz at this rate by the time I'm 50 I'll really be 100.

Which my grandma is closing in on. I dreamt I visited her last night in the hospital, but she was in this weird steel hyperbolic chamber. You couldn't see in, but there was a screen where you could see something like a thermal image of her, except it made her bluish and made her mouth look distorted, pulled down to the left kinda grotesquely. She seemed lucid enough, but I woke myself up, because if that wasn't the mammajamma of death dreams, I don't know what is.

I was kinda freaking out about it, expecting a call from the hospital that she died, the latest in a unbelievably disproportional number of people to die on or around my birthday.

- My (other) grandmother
- 2 close neighbors
- my sister's friend (I left my kiddie party to go to the wake)
- 2 friends's dads

Misc
- Blizzard of '85
- Challenger kablooey
- Roe vs. Wade (technically, I guess it doesn't count since that was a year before I came along)

A couple of years ago, I was at my friend's house on the 21st, at at some point, we noticed that it passed midight and was now my birthday. My friend called out, hey, it's after 12, happy b'day, and I said, great, who died *kiddingly*. I went home, and on my answering machine, my friend's dad suddenly had a heart attack and died. and since he was Jewish, they buried him the next day. With the pallbearers literally burying him.

Yes, I f'n buried a man on my birthday.

Needless to say, I'm going to visit my grandma on Saturday. It'll be my b'day, so maybe it'll count extra somehow.
